Maybe the charger light comes on but nothing else happens. Maybe the screen has a crack running across it, or it takes an age just to open your email. Whatever the symptom, bring the laptop to London Road. We work on MacBooks and Windows machines every week, and most faults are cheaper to put right than people expect. FoneTech East Grinstead
People bring us their laptops for all sorts of reasons: a student’s MacBook with a broken display, a home-office machine that keeps shutting down, a family laptop with keys that no longer respond. At FoneTech East Grinstead we’ll open it up, find the cause and give you a firm price before starting.
Our Expertise
Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, Samsung, Toshiba and MSI laptops all pass across our bench. Common parts such as batteries and chargers are often in stock; screens and keyboards are ordered to your exact model number. We’ll tell you how long a part will take before you commit to the repair.
Some laptop problems announce themselves, like a cracked screen. Others creep in slowly, like a battery that fades or a machine that overheats. Here are the jobs we’re asked to do most often.
Lines, flicker or broken glass? We fit a new panel made for your model number and check it before handing back.
New cells for laptops that die off the charger or have started to bulge.
Sticky or missing keys repaired or replaced, including after drinks spills, so typing feels normal again.
No power, no picture or random shutdowns traced back to the board. We find the failed component under magnification and repair it, rather than guessing at parts.
Coffee or water on the keys? Switch it off and bring it in. We strip it down, clean the board and replace anything the liquid has ruined.
Pop-ups, crashes and slow start-ups cleared up, with your files kept safe.
Fone-Tech, we treat every device as if it were our own. From a straightforward screen replacement to complex liquid damage recovery, our goal is to provide dependable, long-lasting fixes so you can get back to your day without the stress.
Whether you are dealing with a faulty laptop, an unresponsive tablet, or a shattered smartphone, our experienced local engineers are on hand and ready to get it sorted.
FAQ

Software jobs and battery swaps are often same-day. Screen replacements depend on whether we need to order the panel, which usually takes a few days.

Both. We regularly repair MacBook Air and Pro models alongside Dell, HP, Lenovo and other Windows machines. See our full repair list.
Usually an ageing hard drive, too little memory, or years of accumulated software. Moving to an SSD is one of the most effective upgrades we offer.
Anything from a faulty charger or worn charging port to a failed battery or a board fault. We test each in turn and tell you which it is.
