Our Story
The idea behind FoneTech was never complicated: fix what can be fixed, charge a fair amount for it, and stop people throwing away gadgets that still have years left in them. The London Road shop grew from exactly that, and today it serves customers from across the town and villages such as Felbridge, Forest Row and Crawley Down, many of whom first came in on a friend’s advice.
FoneTech opened as an independent business determined to offer honest, affordable repairs at a time when many people assumed a broken phone meant buying a new one. Showing customers that most faults could be fixed quickly and cheaply became the backbone of everything since. Where a repair truly isn't worth it, we can buy the old device instead of letting it gather dust in a drawer.
Each new generation of phones brought fresh challenges: glued-in batteries, curved displays, stacked circuit boards. Rather than turn that work away, the team trained up, from micro-soldering to rescuing phones after water damage, and invested in the equipment to match.
Customers kept asking whether we could look at other things too: a son's games console, a work laptop, a smartwatch that had stopped charging. Now we can. Alongside phone repairs, the workshop handles laptops, tablets, watches and consoles from every mainstream brand, still with the same fair pricing.
These days a large share of our work comes from recommendations. That's a responsibility we take seriously, because every repair we carry out is also a promise made on behalf of whoever sent you to us.
